Bardworthy – The Story Game has been in development for decades. For most of those years the work has happened in private or among small groups of friends. Over the last few years though the game has moved into broader development with Rainjoy Games, and we’re delighted finally to show this project to other fans of tabletop roleplaying games and other fans of stories: the Bardworthy Playtest!
Developing a tabletop roleplaying game is an ambitious goal, a daunting foray into an arena dominated by giants. We’re confident that this small project is something special enough to stand in their company, but we also know that players like you can help us make it even better.
What’s Included?
Except for some standard dice and a group of adventuresome friends, the Bardworthy Playtest Packet includes everything you’ll need to play the game: the core rules, a selection of character options, and few short Tales to play through.

Important Information
If you’re interested, and we hope you are, fill out our playtester sign up form. Here are some important things to know:
- This round of Playtesting is scheduled to begin in March 2024 and should run between three and four months.
- We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to include everyone who signs up, but we’ll try to include as many as is possible.
- The Bardworthy Playtest Packet is a digital project available for free to playtest participants. Our hope is to make a physical copy available, but we can’t guarantee that there won’t be some small cost associated with that version for anyone who might choose it.
